Corrado Rovaris - conductor

Music Director of the Philadelphia Opera Company, Principal Guest Conductor of I Virtuosi Italiani, and Music Director at the Artosphere Festival Orchestra.

After his debut with Galuppi’s Il filosofo di campagna at As.Li.Co circuit in Italy, he initially devoted himself to the baroque repertoire, getting later close to composers such as Mozart, Haydn, Paisiello, Rossini, Donizetti, Bizet, Verdi, Puccini. Corrado Rovaris has conducted at the Santa Fe Opera Festival, the Japan Opera Foundation, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca. Mr. Rovaris also collaborated with the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala, the Orchestra del Maggio Fiorentino in Florence, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Orchestra dell'Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. Future plans include: Nabucco, Ainadamar, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Don Carlo at the Philadelphia Opera Company; Ainadamar in Oviedo; La traviata in Lausanne; Roberto Devereux in Toronto; Don Pasquale in Santa Fe; La Gazza Ladra at the Teatro Regio in Turin. Corrado Rovaris will conduct a series of concerts with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazione della RAI in Turin, the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan and the Orchestra of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.

One of the noblest bass voices among the young generation, Gianluca Buratto’s recent engagements include: Bach’s B minor Mass with Savall in Madrid and Barcelona, both Mozart and Jommelli’s Betulia liberata with Muti in Salzburg and Ravenna; Mercadante’s Virginia and La Bohème at the Wexford Opera Festival; Ambrosini’s Il Killer di Parole (world premiere), La Bohème and Rigoletto in Venice; Mozart’s Mass in C minor KV 427 at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Nagano; Bach’s Johannes-Passion with Lopez-Banzo in Spain and Germany; Macbeth with Muti at the Salzburg Festival and in Rome; the world premiere of Solbiati’s La leggenda in Turin with Noseda; Le Nozze di Figaro (Bartolo) in Barcelona with Rousset; L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Seneca) at the Innsbruck Festival; La Bohème (under the baton of Riccardo Chailly) and I Due Foscari in Valencia; Macbeth at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Future plans: Macbeth in Chicago with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Riccardo Muti; Rota’s Mysterium in Naples and Rome; Handel’s Rinaldo (Argante) at the Theater an der Wien with Il Pomo d’Oro and Riccardo Minasi; Handel’s Admeto in Krakow and Vienna with Il Complesso Barocco and Alan Curtis; Il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria in Zurich, under Ivor Bolton; Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in Nancy, under Christophe Rousset, then on tour at the Salle Pleyel in Paris.

Silvia Frigato

Silvia Frigato - Cabri

Winner of the “Francesco Provenzale” International Baroque singing competition in Naples (2007), she furthers her studies under the guidance of Sara Mingardo. She regularly performs at numerous prestigious concert venues and festivals, including: Monteverdi Festival in Cremona; Musica e Poesia a San Maurizio in Milan; Centro di Musica Antica Pietà de’ Turchini in Naples; Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca; Misteria Paschalia in Krakow; KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen in Hannover; Festival de Radio France in Montpellier, to name only a few. She regularly collaborates with such artists as Rinaldo Alessandrini, Gianluca Capuano, Claudio Cavina, Ottavio Dantone, Antonio Florio, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Philippe Herreweghe, Sigiswald Kuijken and such ensembles as Collegium Vocale Gent, Accademia Bizantina, La Divina Armonia, La Venexiana, I Turchini, Gambe di Legno Consort, Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca. Silvia Frigato has recorded for Naïve, Tactus, Brillant and Glossa and her recordings have been broadcasted by RAI Radio 3, Radio France, ORF and many others. She recently enjoyed a great success as Euridice in Caccini’s L’Euridice at the Innsbruck Festival. Future plans: Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo (role of Euridice) at the Paris Opera under Rinaldo Alessandrini, in the renowned production by Robert Wilson; Caldara’s Morte e Sepoltura di Cristo in Stavanger under Fabio Biondi; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Basel; Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria in Lisbon.

Loriana Castellano

Loriana Castellano - Carmi

Winner of the A. Belli Competition 2010 in Spoleto and Toti dal Monte Competition in Treviso in 2012, she studied the Baroque repertoire with Edward Smith and Sara Mingardo at the Cappella della Pietà dai Turchini in Naples. Among her recent performances: Handel’s Alcina (Bradamante) with Le Parlement de Musique de Strasbourg and Martin Gester; Myslivecek’s Medonte with L’Arte del Mondo led and Werner Ehrhardt (recorded for Sony/DHM); Vivaldi’s Juditha Triumphans (Abra) in Braunschweig and Beaune with Modo Antiquo and Federico Maria Sardelli; Stravinsky’s Pulcinella with the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra conducted by Thierry Fischer in Utrecht; Catone in Utica at the Teatro an der Wien again with F.M.Sardelli, and more recently La Cenerentola (role title) in São Paulo, Il Matrimonio Segreto (Fidalma) in Treviso and Ferrara, La Traviata at the Opéra de Monte Carlo under Marco Armiliato, La Cambiale di Matrimonio (Clarina) in Ingolstadt, Vivaldi’s Farnace (1738) at the Teatro Comunale in Florence. Future plans include: revivals of Il Matrimonio Segreto in Rovigo; Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Trento; Il Medico dei Pazzi in Nancy; Don Giovanni (Zerlina) in Monte Carlo; Schubert’s Mass in A flat and Kraus’ Funeral Cantata with Werner Ehrhardt and L’Arte del Mondo in Berlin (Berliner Philharmonie).
